Troop 20′s “Badges at the Hut”
Merit badge classes will start this Friday, July 11, with Citizenship in the World (Eagle required badge). The cost is $15 per scout, and registration is open to all Boy Scouts. You may either bring a sack lunch, or you may bring $5 for pizza. Class B uniform is fine for all classes. Check-in is at 8:30 am and pick-up is at 4:00 pm. BALOO: The next Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation will be held on Aug. 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at John Nichols Scout Ranch. Cost is $15, and the registration deadline is July 30. BALOO is designed to introduce Cub Scout leaders to the newly expanded opportunities for pack overnight camping, and is an energetic training that will cover everything you need to know to plan and run a pack overnighter. It’s more than just camping demonstrations—it includes ideas for outdoor activities, games, ceremonies; information on selecting and using camping equipment; how to run a campfire program (you’ll participate in one) and hands-on Cub Scout cooking demonstrations! In short, everything you need to know to make your pack overnighter a fun and successful event for the entire family! The next IOLS training will take place on Sept. 12-14 at John Nichols Scout Ranch. This is training for Scoutmasters/Asst. Scoutmasters.
